On a certian section of land where the sea met it lies a beautiful cove. The sun sets on that cove between two beautifully high spires of coral rock that jut out of the foamy waves. These two pieces of coral once were beneath the sea but war between two very powerful people who once loved each other caused them to grow straight out of the sea instead of within it. The cove is protected by high cliff walls that guard the entrance to this wonderful, magickal place.
Within this cove is a treasure like no other and many have tried to retrieve it from the unguarded cave on the northern cliff face. But none have been able to. Statues of them now litter the beach of the cove as the waves of the see errode thier once human bodies now made of stone.
If this treasure is unguarded, you are asking yourself right now, then what happened to these hapless folks?? I will tell you.
These two very magickal beings loved each other very much. and this cove once belonged to them. they lived here in love until one fateful day one began not to trust the other. The misstrust though there was no reason to even think wrong of the other grew and grew till it was a palatible thing between them. They began to fight. At first it was just with words. But, as the argument got more and more heated a magickal battle insued. The misstrust of one fueling his anger and frustration .. and magick; and the hurt of the other fueling her's. Until they both were distroyed in thier grief, anger, and pain, leaving behind only the residue of thier magick and this beautiful cove. All that they owned resides in thier living quarters on the north side of the cove deep within the cliff walls. One only has to retrieve it. But what is now left in that cove sees deeply within and cultivates it. And those hunting the treasure soon find out that when the sun rises on hurt and misstrust a body goes hard and numb and becomes not thier own anymore. "A curse be on you with your lying spiteful heart! I loved you!" yells one. "A curse be on you with your suspicious heart that can bare no reason!" yells the other. And so the magick clashed.. And so they fell to stone long since washed away by the sea...The Grandmother Sea claims all things left to her and so she will claim you if you are not careful.
And so my story begins.
In the forest surrounding the cove three friends make thier way tward the cove each talking amiably with one another. Thier minds on the treasure and on how they will spend thier new found wealth. The party consisted of two women and one male. The man loved both women but for different reasons. One was the other part of his soul and one was the little sister he never had. Each were equally loved by him. And, each were aware of the other and loved him in thier own ways. None knew exactly the nature of the cove only that those who said they were going to go get the treasure never returned. They discussed this briefly laughing probably that they fell or drowned or something of that nature. And since the three of them were there for each other, nothing of that sort would happen.
At the top of the cliff at sunset, the three pause on the beautiful sight of the cove. The sun's rays touch the coral spires in the middle of the sea and then caress the waves and the shore, finally hitting what looks like to be statues on the sand. "Hey look" pipes up one female.. "This cove dates back to old Greecian times!" The other female giggles " We are not in Greece you silly" then adds suspiciously " I wonder why they are here". Heading down the very obscure path intent on figguring that out she leaves her two friends behind. "Hey!" they yelled laughingly "Wait up!" the followed holding hands down the path.
The sun had set by the time the three reached the beach below and thier flashlights showed very little of what was around them. "Let's make camp." Suggested one. And, so they did. Each slept soundly and peacfully on the protected beach. As the sun rose, the spell began to take effect in dreams. It sought out the hearts of the three that lay on the beach, finding only one pure. It began to work on the other two in dreams at first and wispers on the wind. She is not faithful to you it wispered. See her friend she calls brother. He is not faithful to you it wispered again in the woman's ear. He spends too much time with that woman that he calls sister. Look how close he sleeps to her. Each of them tossed and turned all night not getting very much rest. And when the sun rose tension filled the air.
They began to look for the cave at first light two that once loved each other as man and woman casting suspicous glances and holding in thier fears, the remenants of the long ago magick fueling thier fears and suspicion. By sunset they hadnt found anything and were fighting heavily. Each accusing the other and filling the air with hatred and suspicion. The one with a pure heart looked on in grief and anguish to see her friends this way. She began searching, her heart grieving, for some answers and found them engraved on an old rock. The final words of the last inhabitants of this beautiful place.
As she tried to get them to leave to save them from the fate that awaited thier suspicion turned on her and she backed away grieving the loss of her two friends to anger and suspicion. As the sun rose she watched them turn to stone thier forms adding to the tragidy of the beautiful cove, her tears falling on seafoam sand. The spirits of the cove took pitty on her and added her also to themselves. Now she resides in spirit to wisper the warning to foolish hearts.
The meaning of the parable~ Suspicion, however unfounded, will tear apart anyone with it's venom and love and understanding is the only cure.
