Dragon Magic with Snow Dragon
Dragon invoking
now that we have moved on to the next step of our journey, i will talk about invoking a dragon's help in magical things. before continuing to this point, we will have finished the following things: meditation, dragon seeking and altar building. this section will touch briefly on dragon invoking. it will be talked about again on the dragon circle casting page.
okay, we now have had plenty experience with meditation and we have sought out dragons, as well as created an altar to work with. on to the next part, which is to get the dragons involved in the rituals we will be doing. how exactly do we do that? i will explain some things to do before casting circles, and later, on the dragon circle casting page, i will explain how to use them either seperately, or together.
at this point, i would like you to do something. i want you to have dragons bless your ritual tools. it is not all that hard, and even inexperienced first timers can do these things. this is simply a blessing.
how do you get a dragon to bless your ritual tools?
(i would like to emphasize that this is a blessing of all ready cleansed or consecrated ritual tools. at no time is this to replace the regular consecration rituals. you will want to consecrate all tools before this ritual.)
well, there is no guarentee they will. you are simply asking them to do it with you, which adds their blessing to yours. since it is a simple and polite thing to do, they are more inclined to help you with this. now, i will outline what to say for each item you will be using. if at any time anything on your altar has been touched, or may feel off to you, please repeat a consecration ritual for that item so that all your items are free of negative energies (if at any point you believe there is just too much negative energy in your home, there will be a page up about home cleansings in the near future)and can be used in this ritual. before starting, make sure you know the directions, east west, north and south. also, having matches around would probably be good. below the ritual will be listed in parts, quotation marks (") will indicate spoken words and italicized words will indicate movement.
(itl)kneel before altar. set bowl of consecrated salt in front of you.(to consecrate salt, simply place it on top of a pentacle and say "By the power of earth, may this salt be pure.") from altar, and starting from the east, take a handful of salt and spread it around yourself and the altar from east all the way round, envisioning a fire circle in its place. when you return to east state: "By the power of dragons, this circle is sealed."
(here is where the ritual will vary....you may at this time use salt, charged crystals, or power of mind to cleanse you ritual tools, if that is what you choose. also, some people use smudging sticks and that will be addressed as well. all chants will be the same, just the motions will be different and will be listed as so for each item)
(itl) pick up your athame. (salt) lay out your athame in your hand. with the opposite hand, take a pinch of salt and slowly sprinkle it over your athame. (crystals) the same except use your crystal in place of the salt, and you normally touch the athame with the crystal. (power of mind) hold the athame above you head and then touch its handle to your forehead. (smudging stick) your smudging stick should have been lit before starting the ritual, or you can light a match to light your stick, as long as you let the match completely burn. lay the athame on the altar and let the smoke drift over it, then slowly move the stick along the length of the athame from tip to hilt while saying the following state:"dragons of Fire, bless this athame."
the above is the basis for the rest. each item you have may vary from the rest of us, so it is best that i just list the spoken part from here out. i will even add parts for various things not listed on the altars page, for those of us who have more on their altars, which comes from years of varying experience. i am sure by now that you get the general idea on what to do.
Chalice: (Water) "dragons of Water, bless this chalice" (wine) "dragons of Earth, bless this chalice"
wand: "dragons of Air, bless this wand"
Cauldron: "dragons of Water, bless this cauldron"
bowl of salt: "dragons of earth, bless this salt"
candles: "dragons of fire, bless these candles"
incense brazier: "dragons of air, bless this brazier (incense burner)"
sword: "dragons of fire, bless this sword"
incense: "dragons of air, bless this incense"
bell, gong, wind chimes: "dragons of air, bless this bell (gong or wind chimes)
herbs or oils: "dragons of earth, bless these herbs (oils)"
book of shadows: (the book of shadows is ruled by the fifth element in dragon magic) "dragons of the fifth element, bless this book" (you can refer to these dragons as spirit dragons, or even as guardian dragons, it is your choice)
staff: "dragons of the fifth element, bless this staff" (again i state that you can call these dragon whatever you wish)
mirror: "dragons of earth, bless this mirror"
tarot cards or runes: "dragons of the fifth element, bless these tarot cards (runes)"
dragon bowl: "dragons of earth, bless this dragon bowl and its contents" (dragon bowls can hold dirt or sand or something from when you experienced dragons, so you may not have this item for a long time)
gem bowl: "dragons of earth, bless this gem bowl and its contents" (gem bowls hold gems or crystals used during rituals, or collected during experiences with dragons. you do not need this, and you may not have it for a long time)
statues: (statues of gods, goddesses, or dragons are all ruled by the fifth element) "dragons of the fifth element, bless these statues"
jewelry: (not on yourself)"dragons of earth, bless this jewelry"
pentacle: (ruled by the fifth element) "dragons of the fifth element, bless this pentacle"
now, to have them bless the altar, spread your arms out to indicate your altar. state: "Dragons of earth, fire, water and air, dragons of east, west, south and north, dragons of spirit, may you bless this altar"
okay, now you are ready for the last part.
(itl) stand up in front of the altar. with your wand or finger, indicate (point out) your altar with all the tools. State:"Dragons of the elements, behold these ritual tools, blessed by your power and strength, may we be one heart, one mind, one in magic and in all things!!"
(itl) with a swipe of your athame or knife, or even your hand, undo the boundary you set by going the opposite way then which it was cast. leave all the ritual tools on the altar overnight. dragons like to look at these things, and they may feel inclined to add more blessings to items in which they like.
now this was pretty basic. once you get this down pat, you will be able to move on to the dragon circle casting, which can be done 2 ways....invoke dragons before hand, or invoke dragons and cast the circle together. i do not recommend moving on until you feel one hundred percent sure that you have (at least once) invoked a dragon.
i wish you all luck in this next step of your journey. i hope you all reach the level in which your seek. Dragon blessings!!
