The Ash Tree: It is said to be an ancestor of humankind. In Greece powerful families were believed to have come from ash trees. Norse Gods populated their sublunary world with a newborn race by breathing a human soul and spirit into an ash tree. In Norse myth, the most sacred ash is Yggdrasil, which is believed to be the entire support structure of the universe. Today in certain places people will leave tokens of human hair hanging from an ash tree in the hopes their wishes, hopes and desires will be granted.
