Marvellous Meatballs Meatballs - 1 lb lean ground beef 1 ea egg, beaten 1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs 1/3 cup chopped onion 3 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped 1 tsp salt 1 tsp Worchestershire sauce 1/4 tsp pepper Sauce -
1 1/4 cup ketchup 1 1/4 cup grape jelly 1/2 cup savoury tomato relish* 2 tbsp brown sugar 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tbsp soy sauce * I use Bick's.
Meatballs -
Combine all ingredients. Mix well. ** Roll into 1" balls.
Sauce -
Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil. Add the meatballs. Cover and simmer for 30 - 40 minutes.
** Do not over-handle the meat mixture as this will 'toughen' the meatballs. Also, if you keep your hands moist (cold water) the meat mixture will not stick to your hands.
