Do Not Anger Anger hurts not only you but also those around you. If you have anger, you do not have balance. You are a victim of your senses and your energy is spent wastefully and destructively. When you do not anger, you are then free to focus your energy on the spiritual path. On an even more practical level, anger is not a good state to be in when attempting to channel energy. Far from giving you strength, it causes tension - especially in the heart. In order for ki to flow, you must be relaxed. Anger takes you from the present moment and attempts to establish justification for itself in the past - what was done to you, or what you did etc. etc. It looks for consequences in the future with thoughts like, If he/she does/doesn't do that, I will/won't do this. When you are not living in the present moment, your ki will be very weak.
Heal your Anger When you catch yourself feeling anger, first forgive yourself, then feel where the anger comes from and put your hands there while you meditate for a few minutes.
