Star Maiden
Grace
There are a multitude of legends from native peoples of North America that describe the origins of nature’s many wonders. Some of the most beautiful of these stories are about the night sky and its stars. The Ojibwa Nation of the Great Lakes region regarded the stars as good spirits who looked down from the Land of Stars and watched the daily affairs of their earthly neighbors without judgment or censure.
Star Maidens are radiant beings with long , coal -black hair and skin the color of burnished copper. They are spirits who are as kind as they are beautiful. In their earthly guise they have very long, pointed wings that glow a pale, silvery white. Like the stars in which they dwell, Star Maidens are only visible at night. Occasionally they will appear to mortals in their dreams. They are known to be very polite and will go to great lengths not to offend or disturb mortals.
Star Maidens teach us the lesson of grace. Grace is a heavenly blessing or Otherworldly charm that is manifested on the earthly plane as peace and beauty, whether it be in a person, place, or thing. Such grace does not fade with age or experience. Graceful, gracious people comfort others by there very presence.
You cannot harbor cynicism and grace at the same time. Look at your surroundings and other people as if it were for he first time, before worldly affairs and disappointments destroyed your childlike innocence. Grace is found in the purity of a child’s soul. It comes from a clear mind and an open heart. Rediscover the innocent child you once were and there you will find grace.
